Senior Assistant Professor Toshiaki Kato wins the 12th Plasma Electronics Award

Senior Assistant Professor Toshiaki Kato of the Department of Electronics, Graduate School of Engineering at Tohoku University was awarded the 12th Plasma Electronics Award jointly with Emeritus Professor Rikizo Hatakeyama at the 61st JSAP Spring Meeting, 2014 ( March 17 – 20, 2014). The Plasma Electronics Award is awarded to researchers who submitted an academically or industrially outstanding and valuable paper related to plasma electronics. Senior Assistant Professor Toshiaki Kato published a paper titled “Site- and Alignment-Controlled Growth of Graphene Nanoribbons from Nickel Nanobars” in the British academic journal Nature Nanotechnology. His achievement regarding the development of new synthetic of graphene nanoribbons reported on this paper was highly esteemed and resulted in receiving the award.
