The measurement of weak magnetic fields is vital in electromagnetic nondestructive testing. Tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR) sensors, based on magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs), are important because they have high magnetoresistance at room temperature and miniaturization capability. In my work, a serial MTJ based TMR sensor was successfully developed and utilized to detect and evaluate micrometer-sized cracks in eddy current testing. Furthermore, a Full Wheatstone bridge based TMR sensor was successfully fabricated and utilized to identify the breakage of the steel bar. These suggest that the developed TMR sensor provides excellent detectivity, detecting weak field changes in electromagnetic nondestructive testing.
